Now that the weather FINALLY seems to be heating up, we thought we’d share a sweet treat to help all of you cool down a bit! Seeing as how both Zevia AND Frutsa are both on sale this month, we thought that we’d combine the two to create one magical, delicious and nutritious
snack the whole family can enjoy! SLUSHIES!
The Easiest Fruit Juice Slushies You’ll Ever Make! – Brit, Team Ambrosia
Why hello there sunshine! It’s oh so nice to finally
Thankfully, the weather seems to have taken a turn for the better (knock on wood),
which means I can now officially indulge in all of the summer foods I love without feeling weird about it! To be honest, something just doesn’t feel quite
right about eating ice cream and frozen goodies when it’s absolutely pouring cats and dogs. Anyone else?
Anywho – today we’re taking FULL advantage of some of our July Specials with homemade slushies!!! Yes, you read that correctly – slushies!
I hadn’t had a slushy in ages, so I was particularly excited to give this recipe a go! However today’s slushy recipe is more on the healthy side of things! Seeing as how slushies are typically chalk full of artificial sugars and void of any nutrients whatsoever, I wanted to create a slushy that you could actually feel good
about consuming… on multiple, multiple, multiple occasions.
First off… what makes this slushy a better option on the whole is that the ingredients used are ALL natural & contain naturally occurring sugars. Not to mention, just one serving of Frutsa – Guava Pineapple
actually makes up a whopping 100% of your daily vitamin C intake!!! On TOP of all that… Zevia
contains no sugar, and no aspartame, and is Non-GMO, Kosher and gluten-free! I’d say that’s a pretty perfect combo!!!
Now enough of my blabbering… and onto the good stuff! The recipe itself! Enjoy!
Here’s What You’ll Need
- 10-12 large ice cubes
- a pinch of salt
- ½ cup of Frutsa - guava pineapple flavour
- ½ cup of Zevia – lemon lime flavour
- Grapefruit - for garnish
- Place all ingredients into a blender
- Blend until smooth & “slushy”
- Distribute into glasses
